Cairns, Queensland
The design strategy involved reimagining the facility’s layout to better engage with the bustling Esplanade. A key feature of the redevelopment is the innovative façade, characterised by large, operable windows that invite natural light and encourage interaction with passers-by. This dynamic façade, coupled with an attractive and functional interior, revitalises the club’s presence and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
The interior fit-out extends to the lobby, which now features a popular coffee shop that opens directly onto the street, further enhancing the venue’s connection with the Esplanade. Additionally, the bistro and restaurant areas have been designed to extend dining spaces onto the footpath, offering guests an immersive outdoor dining experience.
This refurbishment not only revitalises the venue but also acknowledges its heritage value, preserving and enhancing the club’s longstanding role in the community while adapting it to contemporary needs and preferences.
