Cairns CBD Masterplan
The Cairns CBD Masterplan is currently being reviewed under the guidance of collaborating professionals CA Architects, T.C.L, TPG Architects and Andrew Prowse. The review focuses on the much-loved Esplanade Parkland masterplanned in 2001, and the 2011 City Centre Master Plan which helped revitalising the city’s important central business precinct at Lake and Shields Streets.
Their central design and planning actions have now been implemented and growing population, increasing tourism, renewed investment and rising business confidence are reshaping the city. There is now a need for a new City Centre Master Plan to guide the city’s ongoing evolution as a vibrant, liveable space for all.
We identified three areas to initially focus on as the first steps in the development of a new master plan – a renewed Esplanade Parklands, the Esplanade Dining Precinct, and the Gallery Precinct.
