Previously the site of the Top End Hotel, the original buildings were demolished in early 2014 and over 16 months the development team created the new hotel and apartment tower with views of The Esplanade and the CBD. The development also hides three storeys of covered car parking behind a striking feature perforated metal screen which reflects the sky as it changes through the day, and is replicated in feature panels inside.
Hotel facilities include restaurant and sports bar, a large TAB Area, alfresco dining, swimming pool and gymnasium. The alfresco ambience of the dining and hotel portions interact effectively with the street, with colour used strongly to identify the place.
The development is finished in high quality modern precision materials giving a low maintenance and enduring finished appearance adding another quality building to the Darwin skyline.
